Facilitator Biography // Professor David Moher is a Senior Scientist with the Ottawa Methods Centre, Clinical Epidemiology Program, Ottawa Health Research Institute (OHRI) an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Ottawa and holds a University Research Chair. Professor Moher has a Masters degree in Epidemiology and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Professor Moher studies journalology (publication science). He is a world recognised scientific leader in the methodology of systematic reviews and the development of reporting guidelines for health research studies. He spearheaded the development of the CONSORT and PRISMA Statements, and has been involved with several other reporting guideline initiatives including QUOROM, MOOSE, and STARD. He is leading a program to develop core competencies for medical journal editors. Also, Professor Moher is actively developing a program to investigate alternatives to current incentives in academic medicine. Check out tweets via #beatwaste16.
