Yes, absolutely, and researchers want to involve consumers. Consumer involvement makes sure research is appropriate and thoughtful.  

It could involve:  

  • Developing new ideas  
  • Making sure we prioritise research  
  • Be apart of funding applications  
  • Make sure researchers use funding appropriately  
  • Make sure the research design is feasible  
  • Inspire and motivate researchers  
  • Identify how to support other consumers taking part in the study  
  • Help collect data  
  • Help explain the results  
  • Guide how researchers share results.  
  • Guide translation activities for example make sure materials are clear and easy to understand
